MBA 625 – Online Search Advertising
The Online Search Advertising course was offered for the first time to 11 iMBA students during the fourth block of the spring 2013 semester. Students were divided into two teams and participated in the Google Online Marketing Challenge as the primary course project. Working for actual non-profit clients and a real budget, students gained first-hand experience learning about paid search by running a live Google AdWords campaign. Both of the iMBA teams were highly successful and earned two of the three global titles that JMU won that year, resulting in $20,000 of donations for their clients and tablet computers for each team member. In 2015, an iMBA team from JMU earned designations as an AdWords Business Semi-Finalist in the Americas Region and a Global Social Impact Finalist.
