MBA 678 – Special Topics in Search Advertising

The MBA 678 course was offered for the first time to 11 iMBA students during the fourth block of the spring 2013 semester.  Students were divided into two teams and participated in the Google Online Marketing Challenge as the primary course project.  Working for actual non-profit clients and a real budget, students gained first-hand experience learning about paid search by running a live Google AdWords campaign.  Both of the iMBA teams were highly successful and earned two of the three global titles that JMU won that year, resulting in $20,000 of donations for their clients and tablet computers for each team member.

The next offering of this iMBA elective may be offered during the second block of the spring 2015 semester.  Permission of the instructor is required in order to gain acceptance into the course.  Complete the GOMC Application and feel free to contact Dr. Clarke if you have questions or need additional information.
